Who we are

Bradford Get Out There is a walking scheme consisting of Walk Leaders, Volunteers and Walkers all supporting each other to get out of the house and enjoy their local outdoors.  Although we specialise in one to one walks that are built around individual needs and personal choice we can also offer other activities and opportunities to anyone who wishes to join us.

Get Out There began life in 2008 as a NHS funded, health and well being project providing opportunities for disabled people by helping them choose walks that suit their various abilities and aspirations. It was originally part of Bradford Access Action (BAA), a local charity campaigning on access issues to the built environment, and is now a fully fledged walking scheme in its own right offering a wide range of services from regular weekly walks to occasional countryside rambles and one off special events.

To date (July 2012) we have worked with over 100 individuals who have undertaken in excess of 1500 walks to well over 120 different locations throughout Bradford and the surrounding area.
